Matt McCabe, Chief

Matt McCabe is the Chief of the Office of Revenue Analysis (ORA) in the Rhode Island Department of Revenue, a position he’s held since May 2022.

Prior to joining ORA, Matt spent seven years in the Rhode Island Office of Management and Budget (OMB). While at OMB, Matt took the lead on budget-related revenue issues, including heading the office’s revenue forecasting efforts and participating in the biannual Revenue Estimating Conference. During this time, Matt also managed OMB’s executive branch regulatory review process, overseeing hundreds of regulatory submissions annually across more than 50 executive branch agencies.

Matt has a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and a B.A. in History, both from Brown University. Prior to joining Rhode Island state government, Matt’s work experience includes the Program of Corporate Governance at Harvard Law School and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
